The AI Ethics Court is Open

You will investigate four AI dilemmas inspired by your W1D1-W1D3 project: AI as augmentation, AI and work, surveillance, bias, accountability, privacy, and the six x_lens of applied ethics.

πŸ”

Collect Facts

Ethics is not vibes. You need facts before a verdict.

πŸ‘“

Use Lenses

Rights, Justice, Utility, Common Good, Virtue, and Care each ask a different question.

πŸ›‘οΈ

Defend a Verdict

Hard cases have costs. A strong answer names what it sacrifices.

Study Codex: Six Ethical Lenses

Use this like your in-game spellbook. Open it whenever you forget what a lens means.

Rights
Do we respect each person’s rights and dignity? Think: privacy, consent, safety, freedom.
Justice
Is it fair? Are people treated equally? Are harms and benefits shared fairly?
Utility
What creates the most good and least harm for everyone combined?
Common Good
What happens to society, trust, schools, communities, and shared safety?
Virtue
What would an honest, brave, wise, responsible person or company do?
Care
Who is vulnerable? Who needs protection because they can be hurt more easily?

Golden Rule of the Game

Different x_lens can disagree. That is not failure. That is what makes ethics difficult. Your mission is to argue clearly and name the cost.
